Android 7.0 Nougat Coming to Infinix HOT 2 & Other Android One Devices

With Google finally releasing Android N — AKA Android Nougat, AKA Android 7.0, the Infinix HOT 2 seems set to receiving Nougat update with other phones: the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Pixel C, and General Mobile 4G (Android One) earmarked to receive the latest Google Android OS.

Last year, Google Android One program partnered with hardware manufacturer Infinix to launch Infinix Hot 2 Android One smartphone in 6 African countries. It has evolved over time, receiving one OTA update, then another and today, a fresh OTA update just showed up on the HOT 2.

This is coming after the Cherry Mobile G1, one of the many Android One phones reportedly started receiving Android 7.0 Nougat over-the-air update. However, the OTA update that showed up on HOT 2 is not the main deal, not yet. Rather it is preparation for the major update. Here is the screenshot.

So if by chance you own an Infinix HOT 2 or any other Android One device, you should be expecting the Android 7.0 Nougat update any moment from now. You can as well keep track by checking your phone system update to see if the OTA update has been made available. If not, be patient as the software update will hit your phone soon.

But then bear in mind that this is a pretty large download file (about 750MB), so make sure your phone is connected to a very strong network prior to update. and ensure you have enough data to be able to download the update when it finally hit your Android One device.
