The Helio X30, MediaTek‘s flagship processor has been officially announced in China. Featuring a new processor type introduced by ARM not long ago for better efficiency, the MediaTek Helio X30 Deca-Core processor will be a cut above Helio X25 and Helio X20. Mass production is expected to begin in the first half of 2017.
One of the major adjustment the new chip has over its predecessors is the fact that it has been beaten down to about 10nm (nanometers) as against 20nm we use to see on previous chips.
The new MediaTek Helio X30 Processor supports more memory, thereby improving functionality,it also supports faster CPU cores, and of course faster solid state storage, the new chipset is also believed to save power consumption up to 53%.
The Helio X30 processor promises up to 43% better performance than the Helio X20. The new chip also supports higher-resolution cameras of about 28-megapixel dual ISPs which can be used to record 4K video.

The new processor seems mighty powerful. We can expect upcoming devices to deliver killer performances. However, the heating issues remain to be seen. We will have to wait and see how this mega processor performs in the field. We might start seeing Helio X30-based products next year in June or July.
MediaTek also announced its Helio P25 processor at the event. The Helio P25 is an upgraded version of the Helio P20, which was introduced earlier this year. It uses the same 16nm TSMC process, but clocks slightly faster than the P20. The company did not spend too much time on the P25, barely releasing any details.
