Jumia, Nigeria’s biggest online retailer, in collaboration with some of Nigeria’s top mobile brands like Infinix, Tecno, and Innjoo will be hosting the biggest mobile sales event of 2017 from April 24 to April 30, 2017. During the Jumia Mobile Week 2017, each partnering brand – like Innjoo, Infinix, Tecno, Motorola and possibly many more brands – will have its special day of deals. While a particular brand will be opening the event on Monday, April 24, another will be closing it off with special mobile deals from multiple brands on Sunday, April 30.
Jumia is promising hundreds of new deals every midnight, plus flash sales every day. In addition, if you order a product labeled as Jumia First before 2 PM on any day, your order will be delivered within 24 hours if your delivery address is in Lagos.
Every smartphone you order during the Jumia Mobile Week 2017 will come with a free 4G enabled MTN SIM. MTN will also give you 20% bonus on your data plan for 3 months.
Key Deals on Jumia Mobile Week 2017
We expect the key deals for the Jumia Mobile Week 2017 to follow the trend of previous years. Infinix, Tecno, and Innjoo usually offer the best deals during Jumia Mobile Week and with these brands named as major partners, we expect the trend to continue.
Lenovo also had a strong showing last year with the Lenovo A2010. Lenovo is not listed as a brand partner of Jumia Mobile Week 2017, Motorola, a Lenovo company is a major brand partner.
Motorola phones are not popular in Nigeria, so this one is more of a head-scratcher. It could be that Lenovo is using the Jumia Mobile Week to relaunch the Motorola brand in Nigeria or it might just be a gimmick.
We expect Infinix to offer deals and flash sale on the Infinix Zero 4, Infinix Note 3 and Infinix Hot 4.
Product launches on Mobile Week Race for Deals 2017
A couple of smartphones will be launched during the Jumia Mobile Week. For now, we cannot confirm any. However, one smartphone that is very likely to launch during the Jumia Mobile Week is the Infinix S2 Pro.
The smartphone has already launched in Kenya and is being awaited in Nigeria. The Jumia Mobile Week will be a great period to unleash the smartphone to the Nigerian market.
Another likely entrant will be the Tecno Camon CX Air. The Tecno Camon CX is already available for 70,000 Naira, but it’s more compact and more affordable sibling, the Tecno Camon CX Air is still being awaited. Jumia Mobile Week will be a great time to unveil it.
